The combined spring brake air chamber is used to provide braking driving force for the wheel brake. It is composed of two parts: the diaphragm cavity, used for service braking; the spring cavity, used for auxiliary braking and parking brake. Among them, the feature of the spring cavity is that it has an over-travel function and is equipped with a mechanical release brake device.
During pneumatic braking, the compressed air from the main brake valve enters the pneumatic brake chamber through the air inlet and acts on the diaphragm of the air chamber. The push rod and the adjusting arm brake the wheel; release the pneumatic brake. The air chamber diaphragm will return to its position under the action of the built-in return spring, and the brake will be released.
During normal exercise, a certain air pressure should be maintained in the deflated brake chamber. At this time, the spring is compressed and has no braking effect. During emergency braking and parking brake, the air pressure in the deflation brake chamber is discharged through the control valve, the energy storage spring is released to the limit position, and the push rod is ejected to produce a braking effect.
